NOD32 wins its 19th VB100 Award !!!

NOD32 still leads the world in virus detection . . . ow with an unequalled 19 VB100 Awards !!!

August 2002
. . . CNet and ZDNet continue to trash NOD32 with blatantly shonky facts and figures . .. ZDNet even re--published Ken Feinstein's amateur rubbish-quality April "review" in July . . . but in August, NOD32 once again confirms its position as the world's #1 virus detector by winning its 19th VB100 Award from the world's #1 professional antivirus testing authority, Virus Bulletin . . . once again the only antivirus program in the world to make a "clean sweep" of 100% of every virus in every category !!!

NOD32 wins its 18th VB100 Award !!!

Once again NOD32 is the only antivirus program in the world to make a "clean sweep" of every virus in every category! Now with an unequalled record of 18 Virus Bulletin 100% Awards, NOD32 continues to lead the world league!

"Once more comes the arduous task of noting details of NOD32 before declaring it to have gained yet another VB 100% award. Speed and detection rate were maintained once more for Eset's product leading to a predictable, but no doubt welcome, result ..." (Virus Bulletin - June 2002)

Not only did NOD32 score the highest possible detection rate, it also had highest overall scanning speed!

Virus Bulletin's editor commented in January 1999, "It is almost a truism in the antivirus field that you have speed or good detection. However, NOD32 is one of the products that bucks that idea, effectively coupling the two."

NOD32 still combines the fastest speed with unequalled detection in 2002 !!!

NOD32 reviewed by PC Chip, Croatia

A comprehensive review of NOD32 Antivirus System has been published in May issue of the Croatian edition of PC Chip magazine.

Boris Licina, Editor of the magazine, said "In our testing, NOD32 antiviral tool proved itself to be trustworthy, successfully detecting not only all the viruses we used in our test set but also the ones that arrived via e-mail."

See http://www.nod32.com.hr for further information on NOD32 in Croatia.

Eset co-sponsors VB 2002

Virus Bulletin is widely regarded as the world's leading independent antivirus software testing authority, and its VB100 awards are not easy to win.

NOD32 was first submitted for Virus Bulletin testing in May 1998, when it won the first of its record string of VB100 awards. Between May 1998 and January 2002, NOD32 won the VB100 a record 17 times out of 18 tests, and holds more VB100 awards than any other antivirus program in the world ... and even though it missed the November 2000 VB100 due to a false alarm, NOD32 remains ubeaten in virus detection. NOD32 was the only antivirus program in the world to detect 100% of all viruses in all categories in that test !!!

Although Eset has been specializing in antivirus detection and protection since 1992, our relationship with Virus Bulletin is relatively "young" by industry standards.

Early incarnations of NOD were very powerful and very effective, and its high virus detection rate made NOD-ICE an extremely popular program in its native Slovakia and surrounding countries ... but Eset remained virtually unknown outside Eastern Europe for many years.

By the time the 21st Century rolled around, media coverage of NOD32's heuristic detection of "big name" viruses like CIH, Melissa, LoveLetter, and Homepage "before they were written" had IT security professionals sitting up and taking notice of the little antivirus program with the funny name from the country hardly anyone had ever heard of ... and NOD32 started making its mark on the rest of the world.

Over the past couple of years the little antivirus program with the funny name gained such wide acceptance with both IT professionals and home users alike that NOD32 is now distributed worldwide and has already been translated into eight languages, with more to follow.

In just two years, NOD32's runaway success as the world's #1 virus detector has seen Eset grow from a small virtually unknown antivirus specialist into a fairly large and fairly well known antivirus specialist with a strong reputation for getting the job done, and we now find ourselves in a position to co-sponsor the most prestigious international antivirus conference of them all ... the annual Virus Bulletin Conference.

We've come a long way in a short time.

See you in New Orleans!

NOD32 leads all other antivirus programs - 15 Virus Bulletin 100% Awards

The September 2001 Virus Bulletin test results have confirmed NOD32's place at the top of the 100% Award winners list. Analysts noted not only NOD32's detection performance but also the program's overwhelming speed of execution. Based on the results (Virus Bulletin, September 2001) NOD32 had an Executable File Throughput rate in excess of 5 million B/s, the next best was measured at 2 million B/s and most of the other 11 competing programs staggered along at less than 800,000 B/s. As an example, NAI McAfee NetShield tested at approximately 7 times slower while missing 9 viruses and failing to win a 100% award. Since its first participation in the prestigious Virus Bulletin tests (May 1998), NOD32 did not miss a single "In the Wild" virus. This unique and unprecedented result earned NOD32 15 Virus Bulletin 100% Awards, more than any other antivirus product. We always believed NOD32 to be the best. Now it is official.

NOD32 - Best Performance, Highest Speed, Best Value, Best Buy (Evaluation by independent UK Consumers' Association - November 2000)

Among the six tested leading antivirus products (Norton AntiVirus, Norman Virus Control, NOD32, AVP Platinum, Command AntiVirus, McAffee VirusScan), NOD32 received the top marks for both Performance and Speed, becoming a clear winner of the evaluation by the UK independent Consumers' Association. The official results were published in the November issue of the Computing Which ? magazine. For many, this was not a surprising outcome since the NOD32 Antivirus System was the only one to detect 100% of the virus samples across all the test sets in the latest round of the Virus Bulletin tests and the only one to detect all of the "In the Wild" viruses since May 1998.
